Definition

Regiomontanus Houses are a quadrant-based house system used to divide an astrological chart into twelve sectors. Named after the fifteenth-century mathematician and astronomer Regiomontanus, the method divides the celestial equator into equal arcs and projects those divisions onto the ecliptic using great circles. The Ascendant begins the first house, while the Midheaven begins the tenth.

Astrological Meaning

The houses describe areas of life in which planets, signs, and aspects are expressed. Under the Regiomontanus system, house sizes may vary according to the chart’s time and geographic latitude.
