Local Space Astrology
Definition
Local Space Astrology is a location-based technique that converts the planets’ positions at a chosen moment—usually birth—into compass directions around a particular place. Using the horizon coordinate system, it plots each planet by azimuth, such as northeast or southwest, and extends that bearing across a map. The result is a directional chart centered on the birthplace, residence, or another meaningful location.
Astrological Meaning
In interpretation, each planetary direction is treated as a pathway where that planet’s symbolism may become more noticeable. A Venus line might be explored for sociability, aesthetics, or connection, while a Saturn line may correspond with duty, structure, or sustained effort. The natal condition of the planet, the place used as the center, and the purpose of the inquiry all matter. Local space lines indicate symbolic emphasis rather than fixed outcomes.
Why It Matters
This method can help astrologers examine how movement through a city, home, or wider region relates to lived experience. It may inform choices about travel routes, neighborhoods, workspaces, or room arrangement while encouraging observation rather than certainty. Unlike astrocartography, which maps angular planetary lines worldwide, Local Space Astrology emphasizes directions radiating from one selected location; the two techniques can be compared for added context.
