Definition

Astrocartography is a modern astrological technique that projects a natal chart onto a world map. It marks locations where the Sun, Moon, planets, and other chart points were rising, setting, culminating, or reaching the lower meridian at the moment of birth. These pathways are commonly called planetary lines.

Astrological Meaning

Astrologers interpret each line by combining the planet’s symbolism with its angle. A Venus line may emphasize relationships, pleasure, aesthetics, or social ease, while a Saturn line can correspond with duty, structure, restraint, or sustained effort. The Ascendant tends to concern identity and personal expression; the Descendant, partnerships; the Midheaven, public life and direction; and the Imum Coeli, home and private foundations. Nearby lines, crossings, the natal condition of each planet, and a relocated chart can refine the reading. Effects are not assumed to be identical for every person.
