Earth Shine, more commonly written earthshine, is the faint illumination visible on the Moon’s unlit portion near the New Moon phase. It occurs when sunlight reflects from Earth onto the lunar surface and then returns to the observer. Also called the Moon’s ashen glow, it is an astronomical phenomenon rather than a formal planet, aspect, or chart placement.

Astrological Meaning

Earth Shine does not have a single established interpretation in mainstream traditional or modern astrology. When astrologers use it symbolically, they may associate its dimly revealed lunar face with reflection, subtle awareness, or circumstances beginning to emerge from obscurity.
