Definition

In traditional astrology, hours usually refers to planetary hours: divisions of the day and night assigned in sequence to the seven classical planets. Daytime and nighttime are each divided into twelve unequal hours, so their clock length changes with the season and location. The planet ruling the first hour after sunrise also rules that weekday.

Astrological Meaning

Each planetary hour is associated with the symbolism of its ruler. Saturn hours may suit discipline, boundaries, or long-term work; Jupiter hours can emphasize growth, counsel, and generosity; Mars hours favor decisive effort but may feel heated; Sun hours highlight visibility and authority; Venus hours support harmony, art, and relationships; Mercury hours favor communication, study, and commerce; Moon hours relate to care, change, and everyday needs.
