Uranian Astrology

Definition

Uranian Astrology is a modern astrological system developed from the Hamburg School founded by Alfred Witte in the early twentieth century. It emphasizes midpoints, planetary pictures, hard-angle relationships, and specialized tools such as the 90-degree dial. Some practitioners also use eight hypothetical points called Trans-Neptunian factors. Despite its name, the method is not limited to interpreting Uranus.

Astrological Meaning

In this system, planets, angles, lunar nodes, midpoints, and hypothetical factors are combined into compact symbolic formulas known as planetary pictures. Astrologers often examine conjunctions, oppositions, squares, and related divisions of the zodiac to identify closely connected chart factors. A natal picture may describe a recurring psychological theme, relationship pattern, or life circumstance, while transits, directions, and solar arcs may suggest periods when that theme becomes more noticeable. Interpretations depend on the full chart and the astrologer’s chosen techniques.

Why It Matters

Uranian Astrology offers a highly structured way to investigate subtle chart relationships that may be overlooked in sign-based interpretation alone. Its midpoint emphasis can add precision to natal, forecasting, and relationship work. Because the system uses specialized notation and, in some branches, hypothetical factors, its conclusions are best treated as interpretive possibilities rather than certainties and compared with broader chart evidence.
