Definition

A transit is the ongoing movement of a planet or other chart point through the zodiac in relation to a horoscope. Astrologers compare the planet’s current position with the signs, houses, planets, and angles of a natal chart. Unlike a natal placement, which remains fixed, a transit describes a temporary and evolving influence.

Astrological Meaning

Transit interpretation considers the moving planet, the natal factor it contacts, the aspect between them, and the houses involved. The transiting planet often describes the kind of process being emphasized: Jupiter may correspond with growth or broader perspective, while Saturn may highlight structure, limits, or responsibility. Faster planets tend to mark brief moods and everyday developments; slower planets can accompany longer periods of adjustment. The same transit may be experienced differently depending on the natal chart, current circumstances, and personal choices.
