Definition

Immum Coeli, more commonly written Imum Coeli and abbreviated IC, is Latin for “lowest heaven” or “bottom of the sky.” It is the point where the local meridian reaches its lowest position beneath the horizon. In a quadrant house system, the IC usually forms the cusp of the fourth house and stands directly opposite the Midheaven, or Medium Coeli.

Astrological Meaning

Astrologically, the IC represents foundations, private life, home, family background, ancestry, and the inward sense of belonging.
