Feng Shui your Bedroom for Love

Feng Shui

Keep your bedroom to be clean and free of shambles. Jumble produces negative energy. If you had a fight with your partner, or even a split, you will feel sounder after you cleanse your bedroom. In addition to physically cleaning, you will profit from energetically cleaning by burning sage or even incense, while calling on your spirit guides to send the poor energy away and bring in favorable.

Avoid the water element in the bedroom for romantic harmony. That includes fish tanks, fountains, and even paintings with waterfalls or oceans, because Feng Shui relies heavily on symbolism. And if you have an ensuite bathroom connected to your bedroom, keep the bathroom door closed to keep the energy shut away.

One of the worst things you can have in your bedroom is a mirror reflecting the bed. Not only is it said rob you of your Chi, or life force, while you sleep, it is also said to bring the presence of a third party into your relationship. I’ve seen it brings anything from infidelity to a meddling mother-in-law. I’ve also seen mirrors reflecting the beds of people afraid of committing or who always meet prospective partners already involved with someone else. Move the mirrors if you can, or cover them with curtains—at least while you sleep.

There is an exception to the mirror rule. According to Feng Shui, the ideal shape of your bedroom is a square or rectangle. If you have a “missing corner” that keeps your bedroom from having a square shape, you could be missing love from your life. The Feng Shui remedy is to place a mirror on the wall to symbolically extend the corner. Place it high on the wall so it doesn’t reflect your bed.

Once when I had moved into an apartment with a missing corner in the bedroom, I broke up with my boyfriend quite suddenly. I spent a month in the dumps until Feng Shui came to the rescue. I hung the mirror, applied a few other cures, and met my new boyfriend within six weeks!

If you’re single and looking for a partner, you want to have pairs of things in your bedroom—two bedside tables, two lamps on either side, matching pairs of pillows. You’re inviting Mr. or Ms. Right into your life. So you make room for them.

If you have gone through a breakup, ideally you would get a new bed or replace the mattress. If that’s not practical or within your budget, at least get fresh bedding, and cleanse your bedroom with sunlight or by burning sage. And most importantly, clean out any traces of your ex. Even if you are hoping for reconciliation, you want to clear out the stagnant energy that led to your split, so you start fresh!

Looking to spark up some passion? Use pink, peach, red and mauve colors in your bedroom. I’m not saying you have to make your bedroom look like a Pepto-Bismo explosion, but include splashes of these colors in your bedroom to draw in romantic energy.

Most importantly, keep your bedroom pleasing to you. If you like being there, you’re more likely to keep your partner in your bed—or draw in someone new!
