This convention does not usually replace the primary significator, which is the ruler of the Ascendant. Instead, the Sun provides supplementary information about the querent’s position, agency, visibility, or capacity to act.

Astrological Meaning

Interpretation begins with the Ascendant ruler and the Moon, followed by the Sun when the traditional method considers it relevant. The Sun’s zodiac sign, house, essential dignity, speed, and aspects can describe how confidently or effectively the querent approaches the matter. A strong, well-placed Sun may suggest greater authority, clarity, or freedom to act; a weakened or heavily afflicted Sun can indicate reduced influence, uncertainty, or challenging circumstances.
