The lunar semicircle is a traditional division of the zodiac into the six signs associated with the Moon’s side of the domicile scheme: Cancer, Gemini, Taurus, Aries, Pisces, and Aquarius. It begins with Cancer, the Moon’s domicile, and continues in reverse zodiacal order. Its counterpart is the solar semicircle, extending from Leo through Capricorn.
This arrangement illustrates the symmetry of traditional planetary rulerships. Moving outward from Cancer, the signs are assigned to Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn; the same planets receive corresponding domiciles on the solar side, moving outward from Leo. The lunar semicircle therefore provides a structural way to study how the seven traditional planets were organized around the two luminaries. It does not, by itself, indicate a personality trait, event, or prediction.
Understanding the lunar semicircle helps clarify the logic behind domicile rulership and the paired signs of the traditional planets. It is mainly a conceptual and teaching tool rather than a separate natal-chart technique. The term should not be confused with a lunar phase, the Moon’s visible half, or the division of a horoscope into hemispheres. Its interpretive value comes from the broader traditional framework in which it is used.
