Definition

Fall is a traditional astrological condition in which a planet occupies the zodiac sign opposite its exaltation. It is one of the essential dignities and debilities used to assess how comfortably a planet expresses its nature. For example, the Sun is exalted in Aries and therefore in fall in Libra; the Moon is exalted in Taurus and in fall in Scorpio.

Astrological Meaning

A planet in fall may have difficulty acting directly, consistently, or according to its usual priorities. Its qualities are not absent, but they may require adaptation to the sign’s demands. The Sun in Libra, for instance, may develop confidence through cooperation rather than pure self-assertion.
