Definition

Eris is a dwarf planet orbiting beyond Neptune, discovered in 2005 and named for the Greek goddess associated with discord and rivalry. Its discovery contributed to the astronomical reclassification of Pluto. Because Eris is a recent addition to astrology and moves very slowly through the zodiac, its interpretation remains experimental rather than universally agreed upon.
