Ruminant is a traditional astrological classification for zodiac signs portrayed as cud-chewing animals. It most commonly applies to Aries, Taurus, and Capricorn because their symbols—the ram, bull, and goat—belong to this group. The term appears mainly in older descriptive systems rather than modern chart interpretation.
Astrological Meaning
In classical and horary astrology, animal-based sign classifications helped astrologers describe people, creatures, objects, behavior, or circumstances connected with a question. A ruminant sign could support symbolism involving grazing animals, livestock, food, chewing, or repeated consideration. Some practitioners also associate the image of rumination with deliberation or returning to a matter, but this figurative use should not replace the chart’s stronger testimonies.
