Planetary vegetation and herbs are plants assigned symbolic relationships with the seven traditional planets: the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. These correspondences were developed through observed qualities such as color, shape, taste, growth pattern, habitat, and customary use. A bright yellow flower, thorny shrub, or moisture-loving plant might therefore be classified according to different planetary principles.

Astrological Meaning

In traditional astrology, planetary plants express the character of their ruling planet in the natural world. Solar plants may suggest vitality, visibility, or nobility; lunar plants often relate to moisture, receptivity, and change. Mercurial herbs are associated with movement or versatility, while Venusian vegetation reflects beauty, sweetness, and harmony. Martial plants tend to be sharp, hot, or prickly; Jupiterian plants are linked with abundance and expansion; Saturnian plants may grow slowly or favor austere conditions.
