Sign Up has been around for close to 18 years. In the beginning, anyone could sign up by undergoing the same process for an email address or user account. It would take little time by filling out a few fields on a web page and uploading a profile. Presto! The sign-up person would then be labeled as a Psychic.

After many years of operating, Sign Up has decided to test their already existing Psychic readers by first examining their language skills and their computer skills in their site navigation. On the one hand, I can appreciate any testing process. I support quality control from time to time. Also, I will recommend a language test, as excellent communication is vital. When their multiple-choice tests asked the test taker (experts billed as Psychics) “the proper reflexive form of the verb,” I find that to be irrelevant to Psychic ability.

I will also support the operational procedure of quality control. So inevitably, if Sign Up found it necessary to test their “psychic experts” on where to click on their website for customer service, I can appreciate efficiency. However, these tests have nothing whatsoever to do with Psychic ability.

Well, it now came to my attention that they are sending multiple-choice tests to quiz for Psychic ability. Though Sign Up has a right to handle their affairs however they see fit, I share my point of view on this from an industry perspective after being on the Board of Directors for 2 prior networks since 1988. The testing procedure Sign Up is conducting is useless for evaluating Psychic Ability. If I quizzed my doctor in my car, it would be absurd! I go to the doctor about my health. I go to my mechanic for my car maintenance.

Clients go to Psychic Readers because of their Psychic ability. If they know what reflexive format of a verb or pronoun, great! It is not going to make the psychic ability any better.

When we receive a psychic application on Absolutely Psychic, we will review the application to determine if we are interested in going to the next level.

If it goes into the testing process, one of our 4 testing coordinators will schedule via email a telephone appointment one-on-one LIVE. In my opinion, a live test is a correct way to determine psychic ability, professionalism, language skills, interpersonal skills, and talent.

In this series, we invite our coordinators to chime in on the process. 

From Coordinator 1: Testing a psychic is a breeze and fun experience. I look at as auditioning a singer. Instantly the moment the singer starts to sing, it’s evident if they are talented or not. It’s that simple. When I test a psychic, I tell them straight out; I want to know what you see for me for the next few months in business and relationships. We do not provide the date of births or Astrology signs. If the Tarot will be used, that is fine. However, since this is a reading and not a class, I will request that we do not get bogged down with technical information. Please avoid technical jargon such as “The Queen of Cups is reversed.” Translate what that means. When I go to the doctor, I need to be spoken to in plain, understandable language. Save the medical-ease for the classroom or colleagues. Clients do not want a lesson in the Tarot. They only want answers. It’s that simple. Down deep inside, I know that some readers show off their technical knowledge to mask their insecurities. We need to get passed that. Sometimes there are rare exceptions.

Those first few seconds of the testing process usually tells me a lot while I’m filling out the testing form. If the Psychic accurately described a past or present situation, feeling, energy, another person, time-period, event, I am impressed. Also, reading style demonstrates a lot too. It is a multi-layered experience. It isn’t rocket science. The moment Susan Boyle sang at her audition, in an instant, her talent shined. That video is on YouTube. This is no different. Ability speaks louder than words in the doing.

It is prevalent that taking a test can be nerve-racking. I assure all psychic applicants that we appreciate their time, and this process will remain a positive experience. We are not there to critique them on their talent. Surely if they do well, we will offer constructive tips to improve their performance.

Finally, the most important idea for me while testing an applicant is how I would feel if I were a client receiving that reading. After all, this is for our clients; it must render quality. I like getting a Psychic Reading. However, I will only love a good Psychic Reading that hit points on the dot. If I equated this to eating a pastry, some pastries would be ok while others would be so delicious that I’d like to have more. The same concept applies here. This is a no-brainer, fun, and straightforward process for me.

Our higher power wants to assist us make smart conclusions so that we can live our best potential life. All they want is our pleasure. They want to be invited but can’t reply us directly all the time the same way we speak to each other. This advice needs to come through a material object because we are physical beings. To not ask them is like our favorite uncle leaving us a million dollars in the bank, and we would die to death instead of drawing money for food. There were isolated incidents when a sudden vocal warning from the spiritual realm saved somebody from destruction or disaster, but it is more common for answers to come from divination.

Divination is using a physical object combined with a spiritual connection to receive wisdom in our daily lives.  In my preschool days, I practiced divination with colored buttons, so I would know when it was safe to leave my hiding place and return to our large farmhouse.

My question was urgent as I felt my life depended on the answer.  When helping others, I have seen the more pressing issues seem to make a stronger spiritual connection.  This is when clients receive quick and sure answers.  The urgency allows anything in them that blocks the flow to fall away.

For a single urgent question with a yes or no answer, I like to roll dice (throw the bones).  Another method I often use for a single urgent question with a yes or no answer is a special coin.  It doesn’t matter what the object is when practicing divination.  The crucial ingredient for accuracy is giving oneself with complete abandon to a spiritual connection.

Cards work well for more complete readings to get the whole picture; however, when the mystical energy is flowing, it takes on a life of its own, and the cards become secondary.  It doesn’t matter what kind of cards are used, Tarot or a regular deck.  What matters is the accuracy of the reading.

To discern personalities, I love to use a combination of Tarot Cards and Numerology to learn what card in the Major Arcana represents the personality of the person that is being inquired about.  When we meet a new person, they can put on a front for at least 6-8 weeks.  That is time enough for us to fall in love with who we think they are.  Invariably they will turn into the exact person that their card represents them to be.  It is a great benefit to us to check their signature cards early on so that we are not deceived and disappointed by a bad experience.

In dealing with others in the workplace, it is a lifesaver to have this insight into the character and to know how much to trust or what to expect.  I will follow up this article with a series about the meanings of each of the cards in the Major Arcana of the Tarot Deck and how they represent the character of the persons we need to know.

Psychic Readings

Psychic readings offer an array of tools to have your destiny interpreted.

Auragrams (drawing or images of auras) can be utilized to find places in an individual’s health, be it physical, emotional, or spiritual, that need healing. The most useful way to begin accomplishing this is to have your issue stand against a wall, preferably off-white and softly lit. This will let you to see the colors in the aura, whereas a brightly lit white backdrop will make it nearly impossible.

Have a collection of colored pencils or crayons, and a piece of off white paper, or translucent vellum.  Draw an outline of the person’s figure.  It doesn’t have to be perfect, just a general shape so that you are able to place the colors you see.

Next, draw three concentric circles around the body.  The first will be the physical, the second will be the emotional and the outermost will be the spiritual.  Now, focus on the area closest to the person’s body.  What do you see?  Begin to color in any blocks of color you see.  If there are areas that are clouded or dark these are areas that may be in need of healing.

No Big Deal

Don’t make too big a deal out of it as people tend to be very sensitive about their health and what you’re seeing may not be serious.  Just note that it is an area that needs looking into.  This first layer will cover the body outline that you’ve drawn.  Start at the heart and work your way out.  You may notice that the charka areas (top of head, forehead, throat, solar plexus, navel area, womb, hands and feet, etc.) may each have their own separate colors.  They should, at the very least, be brighter than other areas, and I will speak more in my next article about the significance of this and how to interpret them.

Once you’ve shaded in the first circle, move on to the next.  This is the emotional health.  Focus on the area slightly outside the body of your subject.  What do you see? Are there any sparks, streaks, clouds or dark areas? Note all of these.

Do the same for the spiritual layer, starting about a foot from the body.  The extension of the spiritual layer depends on the person.  You will notice if someone feels uncomfortable that this layer will shrink considerably, however if they have unlimited personal space it will grow.  This is important to remember as we all need time to ourselves to allow our spirits to expand and rest.

Color this layer in the outermost circle.  Once you are finished, look it over.  Are there any predominant colors? Are there many areas that are dark or clouded? Note these off to the side of the image.

Finally

I will speak in my next article on how to interpret the colors you see, and how to begin healing any areas that are not congruent with the rest of the aura.  However just now that  psychic readings doesn’t need the advisor to use tools. All readers have different talents to offer.

Psychics

Psychics readers develop their talents various ways.

For myself, I have found reflection, chakra alignment, crystals, operating with the Akashic Records, journaling, and learning with professional psychics to be the best means in expanding my intuition.

Meditation is vital because it will center you.  It will help you gain focus and more importantly help you access certain energy planes that are visible only to the mind’s eye.  As a form of decompressing, it is important to release blockages.  The art of concentration is experienced in a deep meditation.  Meditating on a daily basis surely helps grow that focus and train the mind.  To this day I use meditation to focus.  Though the amount of time I meditate has lessened greatly over the years, I always enjoy going back to basics.

Depth

A deeper meditation using the chakras helps open up the third eye.  It also helps in aligning all your energies together so you can be charged up. This in turn can be done with crystals.  There is a lot of information on crystals.  Ultimately finding one that works best for your meditation is vital.

Accessing the Akashic Records requires being centered.  Information perceived and digested into accurate received messages takes time one must learn to discern between actual messages versus the mind just rambling of its own accord.  This is where the bulk of training time takes place.

For this reason I recommend journaling. Keep a record of all messages, dates, and follow up information.  It helps to go back to previous notes.  Though you may not think it beneficial, making errors is important because this is where the growth process begins.

Trying to find a teacher can be tricky.  There’s a difference between finding a skilled practioner versus finding a practioner able to coherently teach the material so that it reaches the student.  Sometimes one has to go through different teachers to finally grasp a technique in a way that is right for you.  I have met psychics that have family members that influenced and mentored their gifts.  This can be positive, but it can also bring challenges.  I have always believed that one can’t ever be too perfect in a craft.  There is always room for growth.

Other forms of divination may pique your interest.  Scrying is one of my favorites. I like looking into a glass of water to help me read the energy.  Some psychics are able to pick up on symbols.  Others enjoy hearing and using their clairaudience.

Personally, I have developed my use of psychometry.  Just looking and/or holding an object has developed my psychic abilities over the years.

Finally

There are many wonderful tools available that act as a gateway to enriching and deepening one’s psychic ability.

Like all forms of art, there is no hard and fast rule.  There are many different approaches to psychic development.  I do believe that consistency, time, concentration, and dedication will bear results.
