Astronomers and astrologers use this numbering system to represent dates without switching between months, years, or civil calendars. A Julian Day Number identifies the numbered day, while a decimal fraction specifies the exact time within it.

Astrological Meaning

In astrology, the Julian Day is primarily a calculation tool rather than a symbolic factor. Converting a birth date, event, or transit time into a single numerical value makes it easier to calculate planetary positions, house cusps, sidereal time, and other chart data.
